IT Systems / Network Support Engineer at AbleIT Inc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality support to our customers in various ways:

  1. End User Support: Help Desk Support, Onsite Support, Workstation Support, Printer / Scanner Support, Mobile Device Support
  2. Infrastructure Support: Server Support, Storage Support, Virtualization Support, Network Support, Cloud Services Support
  3. Software / Application Support
  4. Cabling Installation and Troubleshooting

  • Provide Security Support and Education to ensure our customers are always up and running
  • Manage the Customer Experience and Customer Expectations to always ensure Customer Satisfaction
  • Through Monthly Maintenance, analyze the customer’s infrastructure and provide recommendations. At AbleIT, we provide a proactive approach to support and remediate issues before they become an issue for our customers
  • You will assist with Technical Inside Sales to identify potential business opportunities for our customers that will make their operations more effective and efficient while reducing their delivery costs
  • Working with other team members you will implement and support projects under the direction of a project manager. You will participate in various tasks to complete large scale projects
  • Documentation is critical to ensuring consistency and continuity. Your tasks will include updating and maintaining customer documentation and our knowledge base

Necessary Skills and Experience

  • A passion for solving interesting problems
  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology from a recognized post secondary institution in Canada
  • Reliable vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who currently possess the following certifications: A+, MCP, MSCE, MCTS, MCITP, Network+, ITIL
  • IT experience related to Customer Service, Support, and Administration
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision from either the office or home
  • Experience with Windows Desktop Platforms (Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows 11)
  • Experience with Windows Server Platforms (Windows 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022)
  • Experience with Windows Server Applications (Exchange Server, SQL Server, Remote Desktop Services, Active Directory)
  • Experience with various flavours of Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat, SUSE, CentOS, Fedora)
  • Experience with Mobile Devices and Platforms (Android, iOS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience with VMware / Server Virtualization Technologies / vSAN Technologies / High Availability Technologies / Advanced Server Replication and Failover Technologies
  • Experience with Storage Technologies (SAN/NAS)
  • Experience working in and with various Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, OVH)
  • Network Support (Routing, Switching (VLAN), Wi-Fi, and WAN / VPN Technologies
  • Experience with Security (Firewalls, Anti-Virus, Endpoint Protection, EDR)
  • Experience with Backup and Replication Technologies (Veeam, Zerto)
  • Ability to learn and keep up to date with changing technologies
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision ensuring customer satisfaction and excellence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task to manage competing demands
  • Must be able to prioritize and escalate issues
